Formed in 2018, MAYSUNS consists of front man/guitarist Gabe Harr, lead guitarist Max Powell, bassist Beck Moniz, guitarist Dillon Miranda, drummer Nathan Argust, keyboardist Shaan Shuster, and saxophonist Konstantin Howard. The band draws upon an eclectic mix of musical influences, such as Peter Gabriel, M83, Bruce Springsteen, and Queens of the Stone Age, resulting in an equally broad-ranging collection of sounds. Their music is at times melodic and stirring, at other times driving and intense…but always deliberate, powerful, and emotionally charged.

The band’s 2019 self-released EP "Game." established Hanoi Ragmen on the local DC-area music scene and earned the band a steady local and online following. Building on the momentum of “Game.,” the band wrote and recorded material for "The Oldlight," released by Baffin Records in 2022. "The Oldlight" earned the band two 2023 Wammie Awards (Best Rock Album, and Best Rock Song for Foolhearted). 

In 2023, MAYSUNS hit the road, playing shows in New York City, Atlanta, Princeton, and various venues in Virginia and Washington DC, including a Sold-Out show at DC's iconic Black Cat. The band has several new songs recorded and plans to release new music in Fall 2025!
